  1. Reflecting on the event yesterday and thought I'd quickly sum up what a great day it was for the club As always its great to see a good turnout from the members each year and particularly yesterday I thought it was the best event at Curborough we have done as a club. The weather also being kind for the third consecutive year, which as with any event plays a big part on the success of the day The cars attending were all well presented as always with proud members all too willing to show other members and the many guests around with enthusiasm for the marque. True enthusiasts and exactly how we as a club like to operate,so well done for all the effort put in to make them look the part on the day. Car of the show was won by Phil @xxgomxx for his stunning Type R judged by the 2014 & 2015 winner @salsa-king . Quite a tough decision looking at the cars on show. Hopefully Phil @xxgomxx will be happy to judge next years event Big thanks also goes out to Lucy & Craig @oscarcat2011 for sorting out the gate and being excellent at meeting and greeting people as they entered the venue. That job is hard work on its own, especially in the hot weather and for the members that helped set up the place in the morning and help clear away in the evening @hughy @Essbon @SteveT63 etc etc etc Its really important that a good impression is left for Shenstone and disctrict motor club that allow us to hire a much sort after weekend date year on year. Great that the photographers turned up in mass to record the day, so thanks goes out to all of them @padgo @salsa-king @Chris (videos) @mikescooby (drone footage). I've probably missed some out, so thanks to anyone else that's posted. Its great to be able to keep such good memories. It was good to see that all who booked the track package represented the club ensuring that the track behaviour was spot on all day and respected any decision the environmental health sound officer from the MSA made on the day. Everyone managed to pass the noise limit, the odd one with the help of a bung (not a money bung either !) ! Lastly thanks to all the members that cam along to support the event along with our colleagues from type-ra and Charnwood Scoobies spot on As always things will bubble away in the background and looking forward to the 2017 event already. Watch this space for more information later in the year. As always it will be posted first in the club supporters section of the forum and later onto the open forum and Facebook once everything is finalised As always, any feedback that can improve the event further, then please let us know Many Thanks Steve & Andy

  7. Had a great day taking pictures of the day and the weather was great for it, I have still pictures and took some snap shots off the video's. Video wise that will be a couple of weeks to put it together as it takes abit of time up in the evenings but will be done. http://s841.photobucket.com/user/mikescooby/library/M-SOC Anniversary Event-17-7-2016 Curborough these two photo's on here don't look as sharp as they are on photobucket. just pointing out. hope you like, it was an experience following something fast this time than following slow moving farm machinery as I had to make the controls more responsive to keep up with you lot on there lol. quite easily got used to the small space their was when just flying low and working the controls a lot and thinking also were the drone is flying and using the track and grass as a indication of were it is and doing that by just looking on my tablet.

  17. Just so that everyone is aware, Lucy @oscarcat2011 has agreed to become events coordinator for the club. Excellent news as Lucy is a keen enthusiast of the marque and has been a member for a while. M-SOC being the first club she joined after buying her current car. The new position will give support to myself and Andy running the events for the club, which believe it or not do take up a lot of personal time ! I will continue to run some of the larger events, such as Rally day and our own yearly event at Curborough along with others, but Lucy will help support all of the events. I hope everyone will congratulate Lucy in her new role for the club. As always, if anyone wants to be involved in helping to run events for the club, then please let me or Andy know. All help is appreciated and we recognise all the efforts our club members put in to making the club a success. Thoughts on new events that maybe of interest to our members are also welcome Thanks Steve

  18. Myself, @forest4everand @scatty took the track clios/exige to Cadwell this weekend, we were also joined by @BatmanSti in his sweet hatch. This was my first time at Cadwell and the maiden voyage for the little Clio Had an amazing day, great weather, good company and lots of nice cars on track. All cars did brilliant, no problems apart from losing a wheel trim and the marshal bringing it back to me! Think Batman was struggling with brakes at times as the circuit is very demanding. Must invest in a better camera mount as it fell off mid lap on one lap Pity the Porsches kept slowing us down but hey, Porsche drivers for you....

  27. First track outing for the Spec C today at Donnington with @forest4ever in his Clio. The day started very slippery and gave me no confidence in the car at all, the back end was very twitchy with the semi slicks and the fact I was backing off didnt help. After a tweak with tyre pressure and stiffening suspension the track dried and we managed some good times in the afternoon with a passenger. I started to feel connected more to the rear end which likes to squerm a bit, but with a bit of right foot it soon kicks it back into shape. Little power steering issue towards the end of the day so need to get the belts or tensioners checked over, apart from that run faultless. 120 odd milesm 70 odd quids worth of petrol and more importantly kept it on the balc stuff. 27313191_2308123059213708_2232566920068988928_n.mp4 27313191_2308123059213708_2232566920068988928_n.mp4

  40. Hi, know exactly how you feel, lost many of our companions over the years, and always said "never again" but we now have two cocker spaniels, "Elle" and "Lenny", a Lab who comes to work with me every day, "Wilf" and 3 cats, lining ourselves up for plenty future upset there again, As the saying goes, "better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all", just never feels that way at the time.... Chin up fella, try to think of all the good times... You have my deepest sympathy Cheers Kev

  43. Firstly, belated Xmas and New Years wishes to you all! As some of you will have noticed, I haven't been around in 2013 as much as I have been the last few years. Between moving away, new baby, new job and losing heart and interest in all things Subaru I've neglected my post a bit. However, I'm slowly getting it all together again and am looking forward to 2014 as Events Organiser with the club and getting involved again and seeing everyone. I'd like to take the opportunity to welcome Forest to the staff and I hope between us we can make a full calendar of events on and off the track for this year. Easter Eggs and Teddy Bears. For those new to the club, we first ran our Easter Charity event in 2012 when we delivered cash raised, gifts of Eggs and presents and smiles to the Children's Hospital at Derby Hospital. 2013 saw the convoy return, with a few more cars and a lot more eggs. This year I'd to see if we can make even bigger and better. So, any ideas gratefully received. I look forward to seeing you all at this years meets and catching up with old faces and new. Let's make 2014 another great MS year! Dan
