Facebook Group Changes

After a recent discussion with the Staff team, it has been decided to make changes in the way that the facebook group is used and managed.

A message has been posted and pinned on the facebook group as follows :-

For a small subscription on the Midland-Scoobies main forum of £12 per year (that equates to just £1 per month), you can advertise your car, any car parts or any other item you have for sale in the dedicated For Sale Section. For your subscription you can also post up any wanted items you are looking for plus of course you get all of the other Paid Supporter benefits. You can join here:

http://midlandscoobies.invisionzone.com/index.php?app=subscriptions

From today (7th January 2013) all For Sale items / wanted requests will be removed from the facebook group to ensure that our subscribing members are protected.

The facebook group has now become a closed group to ensure that genuine enthusiasts use the group in line with the forum.

Regards,

Midland Scoobies Admin Team

Just to clarify as there appears to be some confusion. The original announcement has been posted in the Facebook group, as it is felt that due to the amount of non subscribing members advertising items for sale that this is unfair to subscribing members of the Forum. So from now no For Sale ads or Wanted Ads will be allowed on the facebook group. It is easier for us to be able to moderate the facebook group this way

So im a paid member why cant I advertise bits for sale on ms fb ?? Ps still after roll cage folks lol

As a paid member you can post items for Sale on the Forum in the normal way at no additiona cost

Is the 12 fee additional to what we already pay?

Or is it an additional benefit to existing paying members?

No the fee is not in addition. If you are a subscribing member, then you are able to post in the Forums for sale section in the usual way. The note was more aimed at non subscribing members who were advertising items for sale on the facebook group and not getting invoved in the club and Forum

Trouble is Ady it's virtually impossible to cross reference a persons real name with their log on name from the forum . So when a for sale ad is posted, unless its someone we know (ie like you) we haven't a clue if they are a paid member or not

Well I think it's a waste of time. All folk have to do is post it for sale on their own timeline or as a status. This still reaches all their friends anyway, most of MS members are friends so get to see it so what's the point?
