View New Content Vs Activity Stream

A couple of people have asked me why there isn't the "View New Content" button on the new forum layout.

 

Well there is, but its been replaced by a "activity" button at the top of the page. I've had a play with this today and if you liked the old "View Content" button then it can be replicated by creating a custom activity stream

 

Click on the drop down menu "My Activity Streams"

 

 

Then click on the box "Create New Stream"

 

an new box will appear

 

 

In the top box, give your stream a name. In my case I used "Steve Stream 1"

 

 

Then select the "Content Only" button below the "Show Me" section

 

In the bottom right hand corner of the box you should see "Save as new stream"

 

 

Click that and your new Stream is created. It can then be selected in the list as you can see in the first picture. This view will remove all of the comments in your feed and just give you the recent posts to that thread.

 

Of course you don't have to use that view. There are default views in the list already set up or you can create your own Custom stream
