Big Shrek
i just passed a group of (i presume) coppers stood on the side of the road and 1 of them had a hand held type camera that i have never seen before.looked sort of like a mini telescope not the usual gun-shapeany idea what type of camera it was? last week just around the corner they had the speed van so i dont see why they would need this?oh and no i wasnt speeding,i was lucky if i got over 20mph due to traffic

scoobyspud
They don't have to be coppers. We have members of the public round this way occasionally who take account of speeding on the roads. They usually have a member of the force with them though.last year i went past them at about 28 and the woman holding the s/ gun shook her head and looked disappointed that I wasn't speeding
Steve
Similar thing in the valley where I live, but without the police. The local do gooders check speeds and then an article appears in the local parish mag saying percentages of how many were above certain speeds. They record your number and the local copper cones round for a chat, but no fine etcIf the numbers are high, the police then run a real trap
