Strell
Yeah I don't have an issue with that. But when she is coming from a 120bhp C2 it's a bit of a different animal haha

scatty
I've got two settings... Is it useful, who knows. I tend to keep it on low power plodding along to work everyday.
The Gaffer
Hi,with the O/E ecu running ecutec there isn’t the facility of two maps.We can offer O/S like other mappers, also done on our dyno, printouts of BHP, torque, fuelling and boost. with the backup of a workshop, mechanics and a stores full of parts should any be needed. Most open source mappers just rock up to your house, get you to drive, risking your licence, car and life, download a map, knock it about a bit, give you a bulls**t figure, take your money and go.If there is a problem with the car, something not working like avics, or a misfire etc some mobile mappers have been known to map through or around the problem just to sign off the vehicle and get paid.At SC we have all the facilities to put right any problems we find, should you the customer authorise it, then we crack on and map the car, if time is running out we will NOT be forced into rushing the car instead we have a selection of free loan cars available should the job roll over to the next day, this does not mean we just shut the door at 5.30 PM, we carry on until it becomes clear we need to roll the job over to the next day with a fresh approach be it 8.00 PM or later. For example yesterday, we mapped a car, 450 BHP no issues on the dyno, however on road test the car was perfect in boost settings 1 and 2 (syvecs ecu) yet in high boost setting 3 it developed a misfire at the top end, towards the end of the road test, retuning to the workshop two guys whipped out the plugs one was found to have a small hair line crack in the porcelain, a set from our stores were fitted and car went back out at 6.15 PM for another road test with det cans and lappy plugged in.Car sorted and customer happy, left site at 7.00 PM,what would your mobile mapper have done ??I rest my case.CheersKev
Strell
What's the real benefit of using ecutec over open source then? Just it just enable you to manipulate more factors?Ps you don't have space on Monday do you?
The Gaffer
Hi,open source is a ripped copy of ecutec, as ecutec dealers we don’t push it but if its down to budget then we will offer it as an alternative rather than loose a customer who could end up getting a s**te job done elsewhere. We can sort it Monday if you want it doing,Thanks for the replies would be nice to meet you and give you a guided tour.CheersKev
Strell
Fair enough. Yeah that's much appreciated. The Gaffer
Hi,nice to meet you yesterday, and after a bit of ecu not communicating problems we found the map to be very good, no reason to spend more money re mapping the re map just to gain maybe 10 BHP, all in all a cheap day out.CheersKev
