  1. very nice indeed. I cant wait to spend a good day on mine once the weathers a bit better.
  2. escort 1.3 mk5 yellow ? mk2 xr2 got written off some guy pulled out on me just after I had the engine built escort xr3i mk4 red escort xr3i grey with 2.0 zetec 98 spec white escort rs turbo Ibiza cupra 16v 2.0 abf NA mk2 big bumper golf gti 16v red Impreza classic t2000 dark mica blue evo 5 gsr silver classic t2000 PPP silver currently on blue 04 wrx I have got through some cars over the years lol.
  3. nice. Is that a twin scroll 2.0 as its jdm instead of 2.5 single ?
  4. I also have a child. you may have a point adding the misses to the policy. Just did an admiral multi car quote just to see what kind of price it would come up with. My 04 wrx mods declared, her juke. Both on policy on both cars. Came up with £1200 for both so that's a step in the right direction.
  5. that's a couple of companies I haven't tried. what I think I'm going to do is wait until I'm 30, got married and I've had the car for over a year( as I think insurance take how long you've had a car like this into account, even though my previous cars were 2 imprezas and an evo) then try again using a specialist insurer like kieth Michaels. Because I also plan to have it as a weekend toy by the end of the year, cos once the weddings out the way I will be able to afford a work horse and keep the Subaru in the garage and the miles down
  6. your right kev if you think over the course of umpteen years if you don't make a single claim all that money down the drain just to line the pockets of the crash for cashers. I bet the money paid out on whip lash claims is more then the money paid out in damages to fix the vehicle in most cases. Especially when these crash for cash people have about 10 people in the car claiming whip lash lol. its a bloody joke. I'm going to get a quote to see if it does change the price when I become 30 and get married. Doubt it will though. Aaron.
  7. I had my old classic and evo a couple of years back and they were both around the £5-600 mark. I just cant get my head round it being so expensive to insure a slower lower spec car which is more modern with more safety features as well. but I'm lead to believe it goes off statistics and the wrx is more accessible to yobs who just right them off I suppose and now the more sensible drivers have to pay the price! any advice on getting cheaper insurance would be much appreciated as every little helps lol. Aaron.
  8. with my 30th coming up and also getting married this year, do you think that will bring the premium down by half? Haha
  9. how much are you guys roughly paying on insurance if you don't mind me asking? mine just seems to keep going up and up every year now. just under £1k this year so I rang around to get other quotes but it was still the best. 29 yrs old. Garaged over night. Not a bad post code I suppose. No points or convictions. 5 yrs no claims. I rang Adrian flux and quoted I was a member, declared it had an exhaust and boot spoiler and they wanted £1200 p.a. I don't think the rest of the running costs are bad to be honest for the performance you get. I do the minor servicing and repairs myself. I get away with £30-40 v.power per week. Tax is nothing really on d.d. its just the insurance that kills me happy new year to you all btw! Aaron.
  10. I spoke to the misses earlier she's adamant she wants to knock there door to see what the "crack" is lol. I've told her it could get ugly especially knowing where each other live. As far as they are concerned we don't know where they live and they've got away with it. she's got all she needs, reg, car, time, place, photos of both damaged cars and an independent witness. I'll persuade her to call insurance and police later and let them deal with it. That's what they are there for after all. Aaron
  11. ok so the car re appeared on the estate Friday just gone with the damage still present. They obviously parked it off the estate for a few days until they thought they had got away with it. Collared the dog walker this morning got his details showed him the car and he confirms it was that car and his willing to back us up. its upti my misses now what she does but she wants to go knocking the door. I said personally I wouldn't give them the satisfaction and just report it all straight to the police. what do u guys rekon. Aaron.
  12. well me and the misses decided we wanted to go ahead and report it like you all say. We've had a good look around the estate for the suspect car last night... No sign. I think they have either parked it elsewhere until they've got rid / fixed the evidence on there own car or plain and simple don't live on the estate and its just bad luck and we wont see them again. we have the dog walker witness and another guy who came running over from the flat opposite saying he seen it as well. So I think were going to call the police and tell them what we know just to get a crime number etc, then ill keep walking the estate every night on the off chance of seeing the car then I can report that if I do. Looking at the misses' car the damage is all superficial and requires a door and a wing. The front wheel needs a refurb but she wants them black anyway so I can do them all for her next year. Car is all solid and ok but just looks a bit tatty for now. and I think it goes without saying that she will be parking on the driveway from now on Aaron.
  13. I do want to report It but can just see it escalating to things like vandalism etc. I'll have a word with the misses wen she gets back.

    hit and run

Hi guys just want to vent out my frustration your way lol.... This morning me and my misses were getting ready for work in the front bedroom and heard a bang outside... We looked and seen a purple corsa reversing off my misses' car and driving off. they had slid in the frost into the car and decided to do a runner. Avoidable and very annoying cos i even said to her 'are you putting your car on the drive cos if it freezes/frosts over your cars bound to get hit eventually'. anyway its happened now, it is what it is. No major damage all cosmetic from what ive seen, looks like ill be needing a door and front wing and the wheel ill refurb. as long as its mechanically sound she will just have to wait till better weather next year and ill have a couple of days off to sort it myself (used to work in body trade so wont be a prob) anyway our estate has no through road and i dare say the driver of the car actually lives in the estate. a dog walker witnessed it as well and said he thought when he seen the speed he was doing he was never going to make the corner. im wondering what to do. cos if the driver is a enough of a dick to just drive off, if i raise the issue to police/insurance etc, eventually i would expect him to go attacking my home or my car in retaliation cos hes clearly scum. im in a tough situation. her excess is like £500 then u have higher premiums next year to think about if she was toclaim herself.. what do you rekon? its happened at a bad time really (if there is ever a good time) with xmas and our wedding coming up in easter its outgoings we could have done without. bummer! aaron.
  15. I'm a newbie as well mate and there all a friendly bunch aaron
