subi
Hi everyone! Here is my presentation after so many many problems... First of all, I am living in Nottngham city centre but I am from Santander, the north of Spain. I came to study and here I am now, I became a scooby owner I never thought I could buy this subaru but when I looked for cars within my price range I found some scoobies so from that moment I focused on buying one. Then I found one which apparently was in a good condition.I bought the car thinking it was my dream car and I got a completly crap. Maybe my fault but well, I won´t get mad again about this, just trying to forget this bad experience...It started overheating so I took it to ScoobyClinic to find out what was going on and also a health check because I wanted it to be in a good condition for future mods... but I didn´t know the surprise they were about to find...Couple of days later I got bad news, probably a head gasket failure but they needed to carry out the sniffer test. They did and they confirm there is a head gasket problem. They suggested to strip and see what we can do, so they stripped out and they found it was a completly useless engine and in a very poor condition...Well, it was NOT even an STI engine! So the rebuild option wasn't even possible! And after paying for the car, insurance...I have to pay now even more money than I paid for the car.. The only positive point here is I could get a new engine from a good specialist so I decided to go ahead...Finally, after so many emails (over 50) to Scoobyclinic (Kev to be more specific) they helped me out to find a good engine, fully rebuilt, reliable and a true red top engine. So, millions of thanks for all your support, undertanding, advices and patience. Many thanks. The car is still at SCR as they just finished the engine. So Xmas is coming soon and I wrote my letter to Santa asking for it as my Xmas present so hopefully they can put it back soon. After the fortune I had to spend...mods will be delayed, but after all, I am happy having one of my dream cars with new engine and ready to enjoy! And that´s all so far!As soon as I got my car back I can meet up with anyone who wants to! However before the end of January I´m going to be quite busy but we can try. Here is what I bought...This is the nice one I´m getting:Here is the block with heads and new cambelt kit, etc...by SCR And finally all together ready to fit on my car I can´t wait!! I will upload some pics of the car in the next post.Sorry if it was too long or boring and for the spelling mistakes Cheers!P.S: anyway to pay the subscription on cash to any member in Notts? It will be the household pack as my girlfriend is going with me to the meetings as she likes cars too

subi
Welcome to ms fella , sorry to read the trouble you have had , hope all is now well and good , and what did u ask Santa for then mate ? And Santander ? I used to work out of Irun some great coastal roads down that coast line ,I´m asking Santa to get it ready soon, as they are busy at SCR now so would be great if they manage to fix it by then Yeah, Santander! There are many many miles of mountain roads very funny and usually free of drivers as they end up in small towns and there are jsut a few locals living there...so...I am planning to take my scoob there for a few days as soon as I can but after this reparation I need to save some money first! the ferry is the cheapest way and it costs as much as a remap Driving in the UK is good but I am not as confident as I could be, at least so far...as I don´t know where to go yet. I only had the car for 15 days or so before it failed...so not much time to enjoy it

subi
hi, welcome.what was the car you thought you bought?and what was the car you actually bought? Thanks!I thought it was a geniune red top engine JDM STI v4 as the engine code and everything match. However I bought a shell with some extras but engine KO...What I don't understand is how this guy had a clean MOT...the head gasket failure was there before selling the car, I just drove 100 miles and it overheated like hell...but if the oil is mixing with the water and everything how did he pass the smoke test? Or something like that? I only know what I was told by SCR when they stripped the engine...it is when they told me it wasn't even an STi engine...and nothing was in a good condition...Maybe he changed the engine the one faulty and sold the car...Hopefully nothing else is wrong, at least it doesn't seem to have rust, gearbox with no noises...just fingers crossed.. Thanks god I'm going to be able to fix it and get a very nice Sti engine completly done at scr so at least I can rest in peace now..
