scatty
Always loved both cars. And they both are great cars. I had my blob nearly 5 years, so it must have been good..You are always going to say the car you drive is the best though..How many scoobs do you see on the road compared to evos.... Therein lies part of the problem....:-) Edited April 30, 2014 by scatty
gwr northants
And the chav factor that has creeped into scoobs , I will have another Scoob , it will be a four door classic, with a good few daft mods , I like them both , and always will Edited April 30, 2014 by gwr northants
scatty
I certainly appreciate both marques.. They are an awsome car.Is one better than the other??? Who knows.. :-)One thing I do know, after they made the evo9 and hawkeye (hatch if you squint) both styling departments have got it seriously wrong... I think... Andy
Come on James you've had both driven both on track which would you say was the best.
scatty
I would say my 9gt. It puts the power down quicker, lighter than my blob and generally feels less barge like.... Similar 450ish turbos, but the way the Evo delivers it there's no comparison...Interested to hear someone who's had an evo6 and a type r.... scatty
Although I much preferred my Sti box...
gwr northants
Yes but as a car to rag on track , a classic , I'd be quicker in my evo , but have a bigger grin in a type r ,
Scr Joe
I have a scoob but must admit il be having evo next
hendo
Got to agree with Gaz, the scoob is now way too chavvy. Now they can be brought for as little as ÂŁ800 you see all kinds of scrots in them.
WhiteWagonMan
Here we go again ..Both are great cars in there own right and both have plus and minus points for and against them, the easiest way I find to work out which is the better car as there are so many models to look at is to compare the best model evo released in a certain year or years against the best model Subaru released in the same year or years. For example....best classic evo vs best classic scoobbest evo 7 vs best bug eye scoobbest evo 8 vs best blob eye scoobbest evo 9 vs best hawkeye scoobetc etc.....Personally I think you will find that Subaru have made a better model car like for like year for year or years than Mitsubishi have, try it for yourselves and see what you come back with. gwr northants
Disagree with ya fella , Each to there own , some scoobs are better but some ain't , is still stand by the scooby chav factor now though , you see them a mile off , if it's a nicely and sensibly modded car , be owned by an enthusiast , if it's got a big huge 34 inch exit exhaust on , with go faster halfrauds stripes , it's a chavs motor , thing is a lot are like that now !! Wich is a shame Edited May 1, 2014 by gwr northants
WhiteWagonMan
Totally agree with ya gaz it is each to there own mate and again im with you on the chav factor bit,as the older battered wrecks are now readily available to the chavs who can afford them then im afraid its the way its gonna be,tis a shame mate as you say for these cars to end up in the hands of nobs like that, this is why I would never sell mine to anyone after I have put my life into it,i will break it without hesitation when the time comes. gurn
i have to say..... and being honest..... if I was going to spend my ÂŁ20K+ on a car.... I'd go for an EVO out of the 2.I have done the scoob thing, and they are brilliant cars....... but you don't see many evo's around.....I like my VXR...... but it doesn't have the same presence as a scoob/evo.Plus tuning is pants on these..... doesn't sound anything special either..... even though it is a V6. The Gaffer
Hi,had both, loved both, similarities are they are both turbo, both AWD and both from Japan, and that’s about it, two totally different cars.I loved my FQ 320, easily upgraded for not a lot of money to 365 BHP, but I found it lacking in character.Sold it soon after and went back to the scoob, nothing compares to that view over the bonnet scoop and the signature burble of the flat four boxer engine. The way to sum them up to me is "you sit on an evo, you sit in a scoob"Do agree with the chav factor creeping in, we see cars now with their tongues ahnging out desperate for a service, we advise what needs doing, chav doesn’t believe us and goes off to blow it up.One last week came in for a re map, car wasn’t fit for the road, dyno refused to run it as the back end was going faster than the front, customer advised, he went away and wrote it off last night, back end came out and it went backwards through a hedge and ended up on its roof in a field. fire brigade had to cut driver out of the car.Worrying thing is these old classic chav mobiles are coming towards you at speed some sporting big BHP and standard brakes, very frightening.....Just edited it to add... they also drive older evo's too, one just collected his evo 6 and jessssuuuuussssss ! the chav really does come in all shapes sizes and colours.....CheersKev Edited May 2, 2014 by The Gaffer
-Stealth-
The wheels travelling faster at the rear? Jesus! Some dodgy mechanic workings there. Obviously bits of the drivetrain have been swapped incorrectly. Terrible.
The Gaffer
Hi,turned out when we diagnosed the car it was the incorrect gearbox, people just think a five speed is a five speed, not true there are many different final drives and drop gears so the box has to match the rear diff,We had one guy ring us up for a replacement box, we gave him a price including labour, new gear oil and Vat, he told us that he could get it done for half that.......Few weeks later he had it done on the cheap then contacted us to see if we would take a look at the car as it felt wrong, his words "its trying to kill me" didn’t bode well.He set off from Notts and as he got near to us the rear diff caught fire down to wrong gearbox, he rang asking if we could come down with a fire extinguisher, when we got there the car was well on fire, flames from the diff had set fire to the under-seal and waxoyl under the car and flames were licking around the fuel tank.Just as the fire brigade arrived, alerted by a local resident the thing went BOOM.......Fuel tank gone up, fire brigade worked in harmony as a team, two guys at the front with a fire hose and a crow bar ripped the bonnet up, squirted the engine bay and took a massive pair of snips to the battery leads whilst the other team members put the fire out at the back.Once out a sigh of relief, lots of steam then the front end team opened the car door and completely drowned the interior just in case it was smouldering somewhere, owner shouts NOooooooo.... not me brand new stereo. Not really a cheap gearbox exchange after-all....CheersKev
