Soo very true

Hi,

must admit I blew a gasket and ripped the wireless router out of the socket and threw it down the garden on Sunday night.

I got sick of it, went upstairs at 10.30 PM, my lad was on his computer with head phones and microphone on, my daughter was sat at the top of the stairs so she could get a signal on her "I" phone and the missus was in bed on her "I" pad,

I lost it, several Vodkas on top of some tablets maybe just helped me loose it, but loose it I did, ripped the whole internet broadband box and the wireless router out, then did a basil faulty on them out side.

Not good and the next day it cost me two hours and a new wireless unit but it was enjoyable at the time.

Einstein also said something along the lines of "don’t interfere with natural selection, let the idiots take out the idiots other wise they will breed", and that’s exactly what’s happened, we have interfered and they have breed, controversial I know but so true.

Cheers

Kev

Pmsl Kev , it is true mate , as technology advances human interaction decreases . It's not just technology but the nano state of pc correctness that the world has become , kids need to be out kicking a foot ball , swinging on Tarzan ropes in the woods , nicking apples from people's garden trees Etc etc now it's all ps this x box that , shame really !!!

Haha kev

Its funny this has come up. We have been through some hard times over the past few months (hence me not being around) we went out for a walk in the woods the other day and no phones just us and the dog. Was nice to be apart of nature again and escape from cars noise ect. Something we as humans need to do more often.

Was the router a naughty boy kev? Pmsl

Hi,

totally agree with both the above replies.

Politically incorrect I know and a criminal offence but "scrumping" as we called it was so much fun, the thrill of climbing the tree or giving it a shake, apples collected in your over sized jumper granny knitted you for Xmas, then legging it, proud as hell of your haul, then end up with belly ache as the apples are so sour but hey, experience and memories, great memories.

Making dens was another, swinging on ropes over the local stream, rope breaks in you go, cold water and gasping for breath, all part of life’s great tapestry, a tapestry that’s completely lost on most of this internet generation, they think friends are people on face-book, some are but some you will never meet, they think playing out is blowing zombies up on a computer hooked up to the internet, shame.

And as Ash states above, when was the last time people went for a walk, no phone just a pleasant walk in the country side. ??

Yes the router was a naughty boy and yes I dropped a big stone on it that in my rage I ripped off a stone wall out side, now I have that to repair to, what an idiot !! (lol)

Cheers

Kev

Hi,

yes camping out like you say it was "our camp site" to us it we were out on the moors, yet we had a mains cable plugged in through the kitchen window, running all the way to the tent, just one socket so it was a lamp or a portable black and white TV, I say portable, with a crane.

I remember Friday night in the tent with 3 mates waiting for "appointment with fear" to come on ITV, the faces came on, Frankenstein, fading to Dracula, then wolf-man etc then the film "night of the demon" we s**t ourselves after 10 mins and went back to the lamp, TV unplugged, time to read the beano or Dandy.

Proper fun.

Cheers

Kev
