Heart Attack

Not been around for a while cos I had a heart attack late Thursday night( about 10:30)

Have just got back in after spending the last 5 days in Kings Mill Hospital.

Had an angiogram yesterday morning and the prognosis is very positive.

there are 3 arteries feeding the heart muscle and 2 of them including the main artery that does two thirds of the work are completely clear and perfect in the words of the lady doing the op.

The 3rd artery has a small narrowing and that can be controlled with anti-cholesterol drugs and aspirin.

The downside is I can't drive for the next 4 weeks which stuffs up getting the car serviced.

Swift recovery to you and back on the road asp.

I believe we are the same age....get's you thinking about lifestyle/diet etc......personally i tend to think genetics play the biggest part in what goes on inside us!

Glad you are on the mend, it's strange, you are about the 3 person I know who have had heart attacks in the last year, but saying that, all 3 now are all given a clean bill of health and are back at work.

If you need any help with taking your car for servicing etc, I am only down the road.

All the best and yes, take it easy.

John..

:welcome: Thankyou for your thoughts and offers :welcome:

The thing is now I have no idea where to take the scoob for its service and mot.

 My brain is just addled at the moment.

Whoever comes to take the car would have to be the person making the appointment as there would be no point in me making the booking and finding out that there is no-one available to take the car.

If its any conciliation to making you feel better, I broke my toe last night :hrhr:

No consolation at all.

If it was doing something silly, then it would make me laugh. :hrhr:

If it was an unfortunate situation, then you have my utmost sympathy :no

  • 3 weeks later...

Well, it's been 4 weeks since the heart attack and I can go back to driving tomorrow.

Have a walk test at the hospital next Wednesday to do which I think involves walking as far as I can in 6 minutes, then a rest and do it again.

My boss has sent me an e-mail asking what my likely return to work date will be as he needs to sort out cover, so what he's saying is as soon as you're back to work then you're on your own as the lad doing the covering will be back on days doing his own shifts.

I've told him that the cardiac rehabilitation nurse says the average return to work is 2 to 3 months.
