scatty
Il ask the lotus clan , they go every year. One thing is you need hi viz vests and breathalysers now when going through France... Something to check out, as I'm sure there's other things as well.

padgo
Do you still need to carry a spare set of bulbs ?
-Stealth-
Yeah fildigger went I think and yes, bulb set mandatory as well as warning triangle etc. And no road angel on the dash otherwise they make you drive over it!
gwr northants
In france there is slightly different laws a lot for truck drivers. Spare bulb kit a must also a warning triangle and flashing beacon light. Also a first.aid kit and hi vis jacket. With all of these you wont go far wrong. Ive been driving in europe for over 20 years and have been pulled loads of times and never once been asked to see any of the items though ?? But best to be safe than sorry . If having never driven over there. Its a peage toll from calais to lemans . Not all the tolls are manned they dont accept visa debit at the un manned peages. But accept cash euro.s dead easy to get to from calais. Fags in france as much as england tobacco alley in belgium is only 30 mins though . 52 quid at mo for 10 gv 50 gram pouches and about 45 for fags . You will pay loads more on the ferry. Change your cash on the boat currently.paying 1.22 best.i can get in town is 1.2 tops . Helps if cashing up a fair bit.
gwr northants
Oh if wanting duty free on way back pidou.s and eastenders is first junction of the boat . Of going by train look for.transmarche sign . Case of kronnenburg 12 quid at the mo. Nearly all spirits cheaper bar bloody.vodka ??

Deano1988
Nice.... How much did it cost you in fuel.
gwr northants
Its about 250 from calais dean . So depends on how fast ya wanna go. If your mates aint booked a boat yet .you should think about newhaven to dieppe. Brings you out lot further down the coast not much more cost but good 1 and a half or so closer to le mans

As you come off just follow signs for rouen then you pick up motorway to le mans. You could go across country . But might get lost lol. Great bars in rouen as u cross a right funky bridge turn right down to harbour . Fookin booming !!

Very keen on going again this year but with the missus and our sonThe drive down was an absolute hoot..highly recommended for the wonderful hippy-esque experience...Le Mans drivers parade is not to be missed and the sound of the LMP and GT cars is great.....Do it and Do it in style .
