Disappointing

From my point of veiw, I first came to this club back in 2008 and I atteneded 99% of all the events and shows, and I will state this "It was the best times I had...meeting all the people and making good friends and sharing a passion for speed and cars.....but as Stealth said circumstancers change..I myself got made redundant last year...and started working for myself which took up all my weekends every week, so that meant I only went to 2 shows last year, I did`nt attend any MS monthly meets either and only covered around 900 mile in 14 months. Which resulted in me thinking about selling up.

I think it might be an idea to do a rotation systerm on events so we only do a certain events once every two years that way it would be less monotamous. If we chose say 5 events through out the year then chose 5 differant venues the following year. That way members might think more about attending a certain event because its not gonna happen again for a couple of years time.

I went to Castle Combe this year with the P1`s back in May and to be honest Thats my last time going to that venue because I`v done 4 times on the trot now....and it does gets a bit boring.

I remembaer back a couple of years ago that we went to Oulton Park to see Time Attack....that was it never again.

As with Chatsworth Rally day....and thats a local one.

Mallory parks only 30 mile from Notts and they have some good track days to watch...but we don`t go there.

I do hope MS keeps going and we encourage people to take part in attending more meets/events.

Certainly some points worth taking on board in the above post by Forest rotating the events is certainly something to consider and a very valid point.

As for Time Attack we ran the thread the following year and guess what 6 names and as for Rally Day at Chatsworth thats been cancelled due to opposition from the local residents so hasn't been held for the last 2 years.

As for the idea that MS will cease or become no more not sure where thats come from and has been mentioned twice now from different members but i'd just like to reiterate that this certainly isn't the feeling from either myself or Marv however what we need are suggestions and ideas to revitalise the social side of the club so we don't simply become a smaller version of SN.

also like to add. im a member on a good few car sites. and been to a good few meets. from the vr6 club to the fireblade club. ms does take some beating. i mean look at scatty or matt. i have to keep signing on just for there sake poor lads. they cant help it! !! .

i sometime go up to matlock on the bike , its a bikes magnet on a sunday and yes some great roads but the a5 is 50 m.p.h and loads of speed cameras

well gotta say cash is a bit tighter than id hoped my end this year and ive not made as many shows as id intended in doing due to both lack of funds and a growing family it didnt help the fact that dominic had to be born by c-section and i ended up using half my hoildays taking extra time off work but will soon be back on track as ive started getting my sport into saleable condition to move on to a turbo impreza in time for japshow finale unless something else crops up and takes all my money again. i think that everyone is feeling the economic pinch right now and when the economy does pick up hope that the events side of the club does too but think that it may take a while. as for those people who are finding it hard to get into the said clicks at the club meets i am one of the most recent club newbies and have a wide range of people i speak too at meets and didnt find it any problem getting into one of the little groups that make up the club as a whole only last meet when sat eating dinner i can remember andy looking for new members with a pile of membership cards to dole out its not that people cant get into clicks its that many dont come or dont try. much respect goes out to andy marv events organisers old any new for all the hard work they put in along with all the others that make ms the great club that it is. :roadrage:

Its not only MS that have suffered the same thing...as P1WOC cancelled their trip the Japshow at Santa Pod this year as lack of intrest.

But They have over 30 P1`s going to Asda`s charity Day @ Bruntingthorpe in August.

So lets hope thigs change for the better next year.

we all find ourselves in that situation pal im probably gonna bankrupt myself buying my new one lol times are hard but we'll all get through them and the shows can start gettin more popular again
