I've just been looking for our first console. It had two controllers, all the games were in the memory (no cartrdge) and it only worked in black and white. It was a bit like Pong, but i'm sure it was older. You could play tennis or squash on it and that was ya lot !! Before Atari Jase

Go on fella an acorn electron. That was well posh only knew one person who had one! !!

and yeah i remember chuckie egg! !!

Hehe, not sure if it was posh or not, I remember I wanted something else but my granddad was convinced an acorn was best as the schools used BBC B's and masters and the programming language was almost the same. I was only 6 years old! I think he got a good deal on it too since he bought it for his company, I got most of my computers handed down from him, it was his big hobby right up until he died, fair play to him though, it actually got me interested and thats what I do today!

After the electron he gave me his BBC Master, which when my dad was home (he was a truck driver and had NO clue about computers) I never got a chance to use because he would constantly play a game called Mr Ee.

Anyone remember the acorn/bbc magazine that had something called the yellow pages in? You could spend hours and hours typing in the code for some crap game only to find out it had a syntax error somewhere :Drinking_trink38:

Hey im a truck driver lol

and syntax error lol

did u used to go up town and write that real easy program to scroll a word across the screen

every sat up boro town center

all the pc.s would have on abuse! !!

Haha no offence intended, I am sure he would have had no clue about computers whatever he did :Drinking_trink38: I used to love going with him to Italy and Spain on my summer holidays in the cab, I would never have had the patience to do it myself though.

No but we used to really get to our IT admins nerves at Kingsmead (school in Hednesford) by disconnecting all the computers from the network so we could change the startup and boot from disk to play Indy 500 when we should have been doing other things :)

I had the INTELIVISION  cost £99 back in the day.. more than the Atari (never had an Atari), better graphic on the Intelivision + you had the speaking games  got all of those :unworthy:

Still have it and will let Edward use it when he's older.

First computer i had was the Sharp MZ-80K, which my bro still has in his loft somewhere. Had hours of fun on it, but you pretty much had to write your own games for it as there wasn't a lot around at the time
