To everyone that has met Sammo,

I have the sad news that tomorrowow at 08;45 I'm going to have him put to sleep.

I've had him in my life since july 1996.

Old age has caught up with him.

If at that time a few of you could just say Bless you Sammo i would be very greatful.

I haven't cried out loud this much ever.

I know what you are going through, and no words can help your sadness, just know that you have given him the best life and loving Sammo could have. R.I.P. Sammo.

RainbowBridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thankyou everyone for the thoughts,

He's now gone but he''ll never be forgotten. :roadrage::crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:

when he went, it was the first time in a long while that he looked at peace with the world.

He knew what was coming though cos it was the first time he didn't pull the lead to not go into the vets.

  • 2 weeks later...

People who've had dogs will feel your grief, those that haven't will never know how attached you could get to an animal, they become such a huge part of your life, it's impossible for me to imagine me ever having to take my snoopy to be put down, hopefully it's not for a long time, but I know when it comes I will be in pieces, and would take comfort in people taking the time to send a little support .

All the best fella !
