of why I have an STI and why it makes me

Went up to Sheffield to go cycling with friends and did a 92km ride that included going to the top of snake pass and back, but anyway.

On the way back I decided to take the long way, and wandered back through the peaks to Chesterfield before dropping on to the motorway.

Big grins, it just sticks to the road like glue, just flows round country lanes with no effort, squirts past other cars with a minimum of fuss on the shortest of straights, and mine is fairly standard as they come, I hasten to think how quick the +350bhp modified one are.

Anyway. it left me grinning from ear to ear, and I didn't even manage to scare myself or anyone else (as far as I know :funny34d: )

Anyway just thought I'd share, now the scoob is safely tucked away in the garage and plugged into the trickle charger as it's not be out again for a few weeks I expect :hurray: with holidays  and other commitments.

Couldn't agree more.....i can only describe my motor as "Savage" and it genuinely frightens me at times

....I must get my right foot re-mapped so it runs in tune with my brain ! it is currently causing Pre-Detonation of my heart rate :funny34d:

 ....well the M3's, particularly the E46 coupes were/are an awesome and supremely engineered piece of metal....i have no doubt in my mind they are better in almost every department compared to the Impreza P1...

..But the manic, frantic and quite frankly insane acceleration, linked with the limpet like tenacity of the P1 is very addictive and gives twice the grin factor

Here's the rub though....i feel this Impreza is either going to bite my backside big time or at best it will put points on my licence !!!! (currently clean for a while now)...I cant drive this thing slowly (i could in the M3 !)..

..It's a good job its just a week-end toy and doesn't get used in anger to much!

Yeah, I know Andy, and still thinking about it, but only to swap it for a different scoob

Fancy a Forester STI or a Legacy Spec B or GTB, but then they've got a white hatch wrx-s in Willoughby's on anthracite wheels, and it looks :innocent: and only about £16k I think, which is still about £15k more than I have  but ho hum

Next time we are at the same meet i'll take you out for a blast

You will be able to see what £800 woth of mods does to an evo. 4oo/425 i think it was.

get it bought scratch, i saw that passing today, looks very nice..... :innocent:

Yeah I know it's had an STI grille fitted so it looks loads better.

I don't want to go and test drive it as I know that I will want it, and I can't afford it at the moment

I can probably rustle up the hundreds that I need for the last few bits on this one though

Or a good evo !!!!! Hmmm version 8 please !!!

My mate bought an Evo 8 10 days ago after sampling my 337bhp scooby. I drove it the other night, its completely standard and TBH, its boring as hell!

Yes the steering and brakes are sharper than mine, but its 6 years younger but the car offers no sensations what so ever. Theres no noise, not even a dump valve or the sound of the turbo spooling, no "pin you in the seat" acceleration, its basically like a fast Mondeo. I couldnt tell what speed I was doing, kept having to look at the speedo as you just couldnt get any sort of impression from the car. Massively disappointed, but then chuffed to bits really as I paid 2k for mine and he paid 11k for his. Told him to get a Makinnen Evo 7 but he saw this one and bought it.

shocking thing is, its got 27k on the clock and the clutch release bearing is droning already. He's getting it RAC inspected next tuesday, then the dealer is going to get a firework up the chuffer as they reckon theres nothing wrong with it!
