richard555
for me parking better at the bubble , food about the same , the location the clock, service and staff the clock and the discount the clock so 3- 1 too the clock , but would not bother me too much if we stopped at the bubble but saying that do like the clock . fildigger
Enjoyed it ....Weather helped, it has a good menu, service good and as has been mentioned, the 20% off the meal is a good deal. The parking is better at the Bubble but overall the clock wins it....Having said that, it's more about the company we keep than the location! ...I could live easily with either venue, Thanks for today chaps & chapeses
Ado
Clock for me, better food and better service, friendly staff, welcoming.20% discount makes even more worth it.
gurn
well i have 1 complaint ........ SHEPPY PUSHING IN THE FOOD QUE!!!!!!!!!! NAUGHTY SHEEPY!!!!!!!!!!! seriously though i do think the hard standing is better for the parking as folks aren't worried about splitters/lowered cars etc getting in the field...the food was nice too, and they were prompt with the service...the drinks weren't too badly priced either....... and no massive que for the bar my only worry is that sometimes the meets can get VERY busy..... and those 50 odd spaces would be easily filled!! scatty
good views folks ..keep um coming...i think the major learning for next time is we will keep the car park we were in completely blocked off for just us....we should have done it but strong winds etc made it diffucult to keep the banner in place... we have already got a solution for this....the landlady was more than happy for us to have the carpark for ourselves, so next time we will keep it solely for us..... whiteknuckleride
for me the big bonus was parking on a 'car park' - just because i have 4 wheel drive does not mean i go off roading and after making the effort to keep my car clean the thing that really gets my goat is wheels covered in mud and mud flaps up to the eyeballs in grass and weeds..............no thanksthe service at the bar was spot on .........food came out wellthe function room for ourselves was a great bonus ensuring we had plenty of spaceas it happens my 'roast' was not the best i have had but i have seen what i will be having next time (bexs parma chicken)i will speak to joanne the manager this week and ensure she was happy with us all........i am certain there was no problemsand finally.........finances being as they are at the minute a 20% discount on our whole food and drinks bill was a massive bonus so my vote deffo goes to the clock

gwr northants
Having not been it seems like a lot of thumbs up for the clock , is there anything for kids to do there that would be great as I thought that was the main negative for me with having kids at the bubble !! So sounds good and parma chicken all round !! ( top job ady ) getting a real decent discount sorted out already as every little helps !!!
hendo
Thing to bear in mind-if we have sole access to the bottom carpark surely we can arrange the cars in a way to get more in? We dont need to park in designated bays afterall, and the whole area can be used as we wish. Oh Gaz, kids can climb trees, play hide and seek or bring DS with them! whiteknuckleride
i've asked the question about constant discount greg and am awaiting a replygaz there is not a childrens play area which is a shame as there is loads of space and grassy areas for onethe manager has told me she has requested funding for a play area from the brewery but knows that will not be in this fiscal year!!!! Scratch
Didn't make it to the meet sadly but have been to the Clock a few times (as we also have some badminton club events there in the function room).Other thing to bear in mind is there is also a second downstairs bar and it may be possible (?) for that to be opened on really busy meets ?There's also the skittle alley which is accessed from the function room (don't know if anyone found it ?)For me the icing on the cake is if they also manage to get a play area, that would make it awesome.I know I perhaps kicked this issue off again a short while ago, but clock or bubble, I could go either, but it sounds like there's more fo a welcome from the clock. The bubbles single big advantage is the huge parking area for events such as the evo-scoob meet last month which was brilliant, the field was packed. Don't think we'd get that many in at the Clock, well not without upsetting the locals
