Scratch
One of the chaps at work was telling me a story about his older brother who after many years of mundane cars, has decided to treat himself with some of the money he's managed to stash away...So this weekend he went off to the Audi dealer to look at an S4 avant...new....cheque book in hand to make a deposit/pay outright.....He has a 53 plate Honda accord estate, which has only done 50k miles, and is mint apparently, and they only offered him £2500 for it and would not budge one penny......not on anything, so he walked out......Clearly Audi dealer salesman are as bigger to$$ers as (most) Audi drivers based upon that.... they're so flush, they can afford to turn away a customer for an S4 avant......But me, I'm not sure, but I might call that a lucky escape, except for the fact that he then went (the following day) and bought a Volve V70 T5......so maybe not such a lucky escape after all..... -Stealth-
The cars are lovely but the dealerships are shockingly stuck up.I had an W reg A4 Avant before my scoob. It was only a 1.8SE with high mileage (motorway cruiser) but FSH and excellent condition. When considering a new A3 I went to inquire and they offered me £500 for it!When I bought the impreza I sold it for £2000 on ebay within 12 hours of the listing going live... A guy loved it that much he flew all the way from NI and drove it back the next day based just on my pictures and description.Unless you turn up in a expensive 2 year old saloon car, they just laugh at you under their breath. Won't ever be going back now.

Its the same with all German Premium brand dealers, BMW have always been that way, they know that people aspire to own a BMW, Audi or Merc for that matter and think they are better than anyone else so can treat people like sh1t. I was looking to have a 320d many years ago as a company car, I was late 20's at the time and went in on my day off and was in jeans and T shirt, f**kers wouldn't even acnowledge that I was there, I hung around for about 15 mins and no one even bothered to come over and see if I wanted a brochure, I walked out in disgust and have never stepped into a BMW showroom since. Problem is 3 series and A4's are selling better than Mondeo's etc so they know folks want their cars so they stick to their guns and make max profit. I will never buy new again, unless its with someone elses money.
