.........by my idiot mate while over the alcohol limit

My link

in fairness he had it coming to him for a long time

he was ryanairs youngest captain at 25 with a good career ahead of him

but he was extremely cocky and flash with the cash

i seriously hope this brings him back down to earth and sorts him out and should be very grateful that no one was killed or injured on this occasion

captain at 25?? to have a car like that is one thing but to be a in charge of a passenger jet at that age shock.gifshock.gif

Think theres quite a bit of irony how insurance companies make out young drivers are more likly to have accidents yet an employer can put him in charge of a machine that is responsible for carrying over 100 people.

If I knew a pilot younger than me was in charge of my flight and already convicted of drink driving I would seriously reconsider boarding!

Absolutely no sympathy.

What an idiot.

Did it once, OK, can accept the young and stupid bit, (have know others who have done it just the once) but to do it again and trash the car in that kind of grand display. Then run away from the scene and not even have the balls to stand up and be counted for his errors. At least he came back, so some minor credit for that.

I'm glad no one else was injured. It's a shame he wasn't, maybe that would have been enough of a wake up call.

As for ruining his high flying career, sorry, again no sympathy. Maybe he'll have to try working hard like the rest of us, and earning his toys, maybe then he'll take better care of them.

Idiots like that should take the bus.

Oh yes, i have the power and the technology, lol

Agree with you Ady, weve all been daft in our time and i know most of us have ditched a car (or 7) at one time or another.

I only got involved because he legged it and then claimed he wasn't driving.

Always amazed me how your driving licence doesn't reflect on your pilots licence for some offences. (obviously speedings not an issue but you would have thought DD was)

No not harsh at all.

The guy is a complete moron. OK, I understand people can make mistakes, I know other people who've done it, but twice....

No sympathy whatsoever, clearly he does not learn from his mistakes, unless the stakes are high enough, I wonder if loosing his GTR and his job will be high enough stakes ? Maybe, maybe not....

A bit of physical injury might have upped the stakes high enough to enable the learning curve to be ascended...

I hope for everyones sake you're right and he won't do it again....

Irresponsible, totally irresponsible.

I think the court was very lenient with him considering it was his 2nd offence for the same thing. I think he will find it very difficult to get another job as a top level pilot with a DD conviction hanging over him, which should bring him down to earth. What a waste of talent, if he's as good as you say he is. No matter how good you are at what you do no one is above the law!!!

Surely someone who is in the high powered position that he was, even at a young age, who is responsible for millions of quids worth of plane and daily many hundreds of peoples lives, is able to know how much he has had to drink and the fact that he shouldn't drive when he has had too much. It clearly all went to his head, in more ways than one, and his arrogance got the better of him.

When I was a kid we lost a great family friend, who was a racing driver by profession and who I looked upto, along with nearly losing a cousin in the same accident (Chris had both legs broken in 9 places!!!! and didn't think he would ever walk again) in the Isle of Man when a drunk driver hit and rolled over their car in his huge Jag. He was a local big wig and could afford the best Barrasters and pretty much got off lightly. This has stuck with me throughout my whole life and I have always had a real issue with Drink Driving

will have to disagree with each other then mate

never said he was anything other than a tw4t for what he did but wishing injury on him for it in my opinion is not deserved for something that was based on stupidity and down right arrogance

he did not injure anyone and it was not premeditated

wishing injury on someone could be understood if someone else had been injured or that deliberate harm was intended

anyway.......the blokes a plank for what he did......did not get sacked he resigned........and now flying for another company
