Calender Events 2011

Is there a reason why the Calendar Events for 2011 is locked in the Midland Scoobie Meets Forum?

So much to do - Le Mans 2011 - Goodwood Festival of Speed ect…

Even if only one or two go, surely its got to be worth the post.

Im not moaning cause this web site is great and I love it, Im just pointing out something thats all...

The calender is locked as it is simply a list of events we have either attended before or that last year were noted as worth a visit this year.

As for looking at other shows events etc then as the thread suggests drop either myself or our events organisers ivawagon or forest4ever a pm and they can add any show to the list.

For events like trackdays or for those events that will attract a small number (10 is usually the minimum for a show stand) then we have the other meets section and trackday motorsport section for.

Any member can post an event it doesn't have to be an event organiser in fact the more people that organise the more choice we all have.

Hope that answers your question / query.

Hi Andy

Thanks for you speedy reply.

I understand the hard work and the hours put in by you guys on a voluntarily basis to keep this club up and running.

I was a treasurer for a sports and social club for just shy of 10 years and would love to organise the event of Le Mans 2011 and future events.

However I can’t understand how you could jeopardise the reputation of your owners club by getting new members to organise new events.

Personally I don’t have a problem with organising such events but I do have a problem with doing such without meeting with the club organisers.

Do you guys hold monthly meeting ect, obviously you hold AGM’s but this would not fall in the time frame for this event?

Many Thanks

Ian

Ian were always more than happy to have help with any aspect of the club Myself Azz and Marv don't have regular monthly meetings as such just get together as and when we need to.

We do however attend almost every club monthly meet and I would suggest you make yourself known to us at the next meet (feb details to be released soon) and we can have a chat etc.

As for Le Mans stick the details in the motorsport section and i'll happily add it to the calender.

Evening all......

Just want to make a point.

I thought we had 2 new events organisers.

We have'nt seen any dates as yet for this year. we've normally got dates set for the year by now.

We've had a few members organising events, but they should'nt have to,i thought it was down to the "events organisers" so to say.

Ive not been to many myself, but the ones i've been have been awesome, met some great people and had a right laugh, just a shame nothing's been organised yet !!!!

I totally agree Paula thats why I put up the calender.

As you know for the last couple of years myself and azz have held the post of events organisers and with the support of all those that attended we had some cracking days.

Now fortunately both of us have had experience of attending and organising this type of thing before so steppigng up and doing it for MS was relatively easy for us. However we now as owners have more things to do so have had to release some of the responsibility to others.

Our 2 new official events organisers who have volenteered to help are not as experienced as we were and therefore require some support which azz and myself have agreed to give.

Moving forward we now have a calender of events we expect to attend (as previously stated this list isn't final) and as with previous years we will add individual threads at the appropriate times so people can add their names to attend.

Hopefully moving forward this solves the issue.
