Dash board symbol

Need help with the saxo put a new barrel onto it and it wont start, will turn over but I have this symbol flashing on the dash key in a box. Anyone know what it is and if they is a way round it so it will start so I can sell it

guessing, but does the key need to be re programmed to fit the new barrell????

key probably has a transponder.

the key fits the ignition but isn't matched to the ECU/immobiliser

oh, why did you change the barrel? is it because you only had 1 key? and now changed the lock set to get 2 keys?

if you have the original key, try holding it close to the other key when trying to start.

if this works then you can tape/glue the original key in the plastic steering cowling

If you open up the old key you may find the transponder, a lot of vx`s just have it in the key and you can move it to another key.

The ballel broke inside so got another one with the key. Its just making me think if it has a immobiliser with it turning over. They is a sensor thing what goes round the ballel. What will I need to do its not like the key is that big to put a code into it

Have had a go at putting the old key on the sensor box thing still wont start so think I need to reset it is that done by plugging something in the ecu

if the key has a transponder in it then the ignition barrel will have a black ring round it with a wire attached to it which picks up with the transponder in the key so is this where you have the old key right nxt to the ignition barrel ????

asaboth, what i did with the transit, as i changed all the keys. is as greg said, take the chip out the key, and put it in the new one.

so then the transponder should be picked up but with the new key profile.

as aboth, make sure all the wires are intact first. then change the transponder chip

the key symbole says you need the chip

i will have a go at changing the chips over see what that does. bets on snapping the key

Woooo got it working. It broke where the barrel turns the switch to cross the wires so Took the wires off the new one and put them on the standard ballel. Anyone want to buy a saxo lol
