Sad day for RAF Cottesmore

Today saw the Harrier Squadrons depart from RAF Cottesmore and Wittering as part of the Strategic Defence Review before the closure of the bases, who knows what future it will have for the bases and the staff, some of whome are friends. Its a very sad day for Rutland!

goverment has went mad , u still get all the mp,s putting in dodgy exspense claims 14 million have been put on hold because of irreglarities ??? No more ark royal no more harriers ,they will be getting rid of the monarchy next and putting simon cowel in charge

i have a friend who works in the air traffic control up there........... but he works for the navy, and is being moved!!

He did say that the people at the base would no doubt be moved to other bases!!

make ya mad that we are losing aircrafts like that when ya have the americans that have everything and to much of it but cant ruddy use it right,then our lads and lasses are struggling their bits off and having stuff took off them.they will be catching taxis to war soon and firing blank ammo..the country as gone mad...........rant over..
